Lerderderg Gorge Sand Mine

Several large format banners were put up along Lerderderg Gorge Road in Bacchus Marsh to show a united front by locals in response to the threat of a neighbouring sand mine. The proposed mine would have a devastating effect on the local environment, would ruin the main access road to the popular MacKenzies Flat Picnic Area, pollute the adjacent Goodman’s Creek, and cause dust pollution in nearby residential areas.
