Spirit of Tasmania Quay — Environmental Design

An 80-metre illustrative mural created for the Spirit of Tasmania Quay in North Geelong. The theme celebrates the migration of the endangered Orange Bellied Parrot from Melaleuca Creek in South West Tassie – Palawa Country to coastal Victoria – Wadawurrung Country. Illustration includes vegetation specific to the diet and habitat of the parrot, including beaded glasswort, common sea-heath, coastal saltbush, swamp paperbark and kelp.

Several illustrative murals and signage were also designed for the newly opened Quay. Illustrative themes for these included gum leaves, bottlenose dolphins, and the great egret. All were in consultation with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners, as part of an Acknowledgment of Country.
