Interpretive Display — Parks Victoria

Point Nepean has played an important part in the history of defence at Port Phillip Bay, both as a Quarantine Station—controlling the spread of shipborne disease into the Australian colonies—and as a line of defence for Melbourne’s ports, with military forts dating back to the 1880s.
Isolated because of its geographic location, Point Nepean plays host to a unique range of flora and fauna. The Marine National Parks and reserves surrounding the peninsula provide an important habitat to a variety of unique and diverse marine life.
Interpretive panels were created telling of some of these stories.
